Without cash-flow your business dies.
1. Charge upfront
So many businesses CAN charge upfront, but donโt.
If you work globally like I do, it makes no sense to invoice after you delivered.
I run a lean, fast-operating profitable online business.
I have zero interest or time to chase payments โ neither should you.
If you deliver directly to the client โ charge upfront.
If they donโt want to pay upfront, this is a red flag.
2. Skip hiring full time employees
โ Hire contractors
โ Hire people who run their own businesses
Micro-outsource the things you need help with.
Bring in people who have their own business (portfolio careers or online businesses) and wants more clients.
It's a win-win ๐ค for both parties.
3. Skip most of the subscriptions youโve signed up for
โI just need another tool before I canโฆโ
โ This is super common and the wrong approach.
You donโt need another tool.
Instead:
โ FOCUS on the thing that moves the needle, which is โ SALES.
โ Learn how to build super lean in the beginning.
Focus on cash flow and getting to profitability above all else.
You will be amazed at how much it is that you donโt need.

Templates
โ
SOPs
โ Skip Slack
โ Skip clunky tools
โ Skip useless meetings (see how in the article above)
Keep it simple and everyone wins.

4. Donโt let any dollar walk out the door
After a while you want to make sure you have offers for different levels and budgets.
Enable people to window shop before they commit to buying.
Example:
Free resources (loads of it; social media, newsletter, lead magnets)
Low ticket - do it yourself
Mid ticket - build with you
High ticket - done for you
Never let a dollar walk out the door.
And donโt just sell time. Build several income streams.
5. Make more of your stuff FREE
This will make you sell more.
โ Content on social media, newsletters and step-by-step guides!
You will grow slower if you gate keep things!
6. Take crazy good care of your clients

Instead of chasing new clients, take really good care of your existing ones.
They will recommend you to NEW clients.
And if you do a great job, they will come back - they always do.
Learn how to repurpose your best content. It compounds and works a your sales rep!
Have a plan for mitigating churn by growing together with your client.
Show that you understand their growth journey.
PLAN for upsell and cross selling.

7. Skip having an office

Work from anywhere you want ๐
