Every business has cycles.

Good months.
Slow months.
Messy months.

Months where everything feels heavier than it should.

That doesn't mean you're failing It means you're in business.

The mistake is trying to fix everything at once.

A lot of times, the best approach is to take a step back and assess the situation before you start making changes.

Try this:

START HERE

1 - Look back before you push forward

Write down 3 wins from the last 12 months.

The client you helped.
The thing you launched.
The hard decision you made.
The viral post you got.
The DM you received.
The referral you got from someone in your network.
The first 50 subscribers to your newsletter.

You’ve made huge progress compared to where you were last year - sometimes we need to remind ourselves how far we’ve come.

2 - Find the real bottleneck

  • Is it leads?

  • Sales?

  • Delivery?

  • Pricing?

  • Offer clarity?

  • Energy?

  • Focus?

For your funnel:

  1. What does the top of funnel look like?

  2. What does the middle of the funnel look like?

  3. What does the end of the funnel look like?

For your offer ladder:

  1. What's your low ticket offer?

  2. What's your mid ticket offer?

  3. What's your high ticket offer?

Reverse engineer what people need to find you, trust you and buy from you.

Map out how everything is connected and what is missing, or is redundant?

Sometimes when we’re tired it feels like everything is going wrong and we’re failing everywhere.

We’re not.

Don't try to fix the whole business. Fix the part that is stuck.

Take the time to analyse what needs fixing before you do anything.

3 - Save cash when things are good

Good months are not for spending.

They are for building runway.

Cash gives you options when things get slower.

And believe me, they will. It’s 100% normal.

All businesses goes through cycles.

4 - Cut fat when things feel hard

Most people are really good at signing up to new tools.

And one day it’s all a mess.

A great way to get unstuck is to do some spring cleaning in our business.

Look at:

- subscriptions
- tools
- contractors
- offers
- meetings
- and tasks

What’s not creating value?

Remove it or simplify it.

I’m a big fan of keeping things extremely simple.

5 - Stay calm when things are uncertain

Don’t panic build.

Don’t panic spend.

Don’t panic change your entire business model.

Look at what is selling, what people are asking for, and where the margins are strongest.

Double down there.

6 - Make one clear move this week

1. Raise the price.
2. Follow up with the lead.
3. Fix the profile.
4. Publish the post.
5. Remove the offer nobody buys.
6. Book the sales call.
7. Plan your content plan for the whole summer in advance. The last thing you want is to start from scratch in August. Preparation IS everything.
8. Announce your newsletter launch on LinkedIn this week and start building your email list.

7 - Make summer lighter

Planning is everything.

When other people are slowing down, you keep going. You keep showing up. That’s how we win over most people.

The bar out there is so incredibly low.

So, plan ahead and keep showing up.

(it doesn’t mean you shouldn’t rest and enjoy summer)

Pick one focus for the next 30 days.

Not ten. One.

Make it happen.

Sometimes you’re not stuck.

You’re just tired, overloaded, or too close to the problem.

Remember:

  1. Save cash

  2. Cut fat

  3. Stay calm

  4. Repeat

These 7 steps is what I use as a framework when I coach my clients.

Its helped them to win a $1 M project, create and win a partnership program, improve conversion of an existing offer, grow and monetize their newsletter list, position themselves more clearly, build an inbound leads system for their business etc etc.

Give it a try and let me know how it goes.
