Regardless if you are a business owner or not, building multiple income streams is a smart move.

AI is disrupting the way the world works.
Many jobs will disappear.
Many new jobs will be born.
Roles that stay will be streamlined.
So many people thought they had job security.
But in reality there's no such thing.
Already this year we have seen massive (and currently ongoing) layoffs in tech.
And many startups are going under.
The running total of tech layoffs for 2023 (Jan-Sept) to date is 224,503 ๐คฏ
So, please bet on yourself.
If you are a business owner, even more so.
There's no such thing as job security.
Or a safe market.
Don't give everything to one employer.
Startups are changing how they hire as well.
How we build startups and go to market are changing.
Companies are building more lean now.
The last couple of years profitability has taken a backseat.
Now it's on everyone's agenda.
More than anything there's CHANGE in the air.

๐ฐ Build Multiple Income Streams
Why limit ourselves to one income / one employer / one full-time job when we can have multiple engagements, jobs, and build multiple income streams instead?
The access we have to building and learning online is mind blowing.
The learning landscape is changing everyday.
Youtube is free education.
Anyone with a voice and internet can build online.
We are living in the attention economy.
I'm not saying its easy.
It obviously requires an effort.
But it's 100% doable.
For so many more people than the ones who are currently doing it.
And this is the direction the market is moving.
Start working towards the change and future you want to have.
๐บ๏ธ This Is How I Did It
A year ago I decided to start building multiple income streams, I had no idea how.
โ I did it anyway.
And YOU can too.
Hopefully my learnings can help you to get started too.
Here's where you start ๐
๐งฑ STEP 1 - Decide what services/products you want to offer
Decide what your offering is = Decide what you want to monetize.
Naturally it means finding a solution to a problem, or a skill/knowledge that people want to learn from you.
The easiest way to get started is to sell your time to someone who is looking for your competence and knowledge and wants to pay for it.
Let me give you a few examples:
Let's say you have worked with Enterprise sales 7+ years and you are great at it. You can coach others on this. The demand out there exists. What you need is distribution.
Let's say you have sold into the public sector for 15 years. You know EVERYTHING there is to know on how to sell into it + what it requires of companies who want to sell to this market. You can sell consultation calls and charge quite well for it. Both to people and companies wanting to learn what it takes to break into a new market.
There are only 54 people in the world with the licences and trainings that you've got. Coach people and companies on this. Don't waste it by only giving it to one employer.
You're a cyber security expert, you can put together a guide / ebook with the top 10 tips for small companies. Sell it on Gumroad.
You have 10+ years experience of scaling companies, and you want to get advisory roles, start a newsletter and share your knowledge.
Build a program for a specific target audience, package a step-by-step coaching program.
You're a developer with photography as a side-hustle. Monetize it. Leverage LinkedIn, TikTok or Instagram to find clients.
You are a senior CTO and you want to do board work. Tell people in your network + put it on your profile.
You're a consultant and want to build a consulting company. Work as a consultant yourself, build distribution and reach, and when you have more demand than you can handle and deliver, then ask people in your network if they are looking for a side gig or new job.
๐๐ป STEP 2 - Put yourself out there
Due to the fact that no one can read other people's minds (yet ๐ ), you need to put yourself out there.
This can be through posting content on social media platforms.
It can be through your podcast, Youtube channel or newsletter.
I chose LinkedIn.
I've showed up 638 days in a row.
It's working brilliantly for me.
And it can for you too.
"But Hanna, this is not comfortable for me."
Change is seldom comfortable. Everything worth anything requires effort and discomfort.
If you want a change and build something new but you're not willing to leave your comfort zone, I can't help you.
You can also reach out directly to companies you want to work with.
Or people who are already doing this.
Learn from them.
The point is, you need to TELL PEOPLE what you want to do.
This will significantly increase your chances than staying quiet.
I chose content.
And building audience for distribution.
It's opened incredible doors for me.
If you nail distribution you have a company.
This is what every company in the world wants.
I market myself through my content.
I build community.
And post value to my audience.
Over the last 1.5 years my content has generated 48 million impressions.
And I get a ton of inbound.
I have zero interest in doing outbound.
Chasing people, no thanks.
Content is a cheat code to building a company.
Like Codie Sanchez says:
Content is how you get in through the back door when everyone else is standing in line waiting.
So, posting content led me to getting requests from CEO's and Founders for help with personal branding.
Because they saw me building on LinkedIn.
Which led to me build a personal branding program.
I teach people HOW to build audience and distribution.
At the same time I was doing go to market advisory and consulting.
And eventually I couldn't handle the demand I was getting so I asked around in my network and today I offer this as part of my services.
Time-based fractional work for go to market.
Then I added ghostwriting because most CEO's I meet don't have time to write content.
Due to me not having the time to deliver all of these services myself, I outsource the work to contractors who helps me deliver the services.
When my reach on LinkedIn expanded I started getting sponsorship and brand partnership enquiries.
I've partnered with companies who offer pay transparency, an insurance company, several EORs, a CRM company etc.
I say no to most of the offers I get.
It needs to be a 100% match and bring VALUE to my audience.
At the same time, I have been creating content for my own posts and newsletters.
So, as long as I don't stop feeding the eco-system I'm building with content the flywheel keeps on spinning.
๐งถ STEP 3 - Conversion
So you've got clarity on what you offer + you got distribution.
Now what?
Now you need CONVERSION.
๐ฐ
I recommend you spend time on this.
Be specific in your offering.
Do a lot of A/B testing.
It may sound like rocket science, but it's not.
It requires patience though.
Build a super simple website.
I have two.
As you can see hunt.rs looks like a 3-year old made it.
I haven't had time to fix it.
I'm getting inbound, so it converts which is what counts.
And hannalarsson.me spins like a well-oiled machine.
Check out the super simple form I have on the website.
It doesn't need to be more complex than that.
AND last but not least.
I've turned my LinkedIn profile into a landing page.
This is super key.
This is where a large part of your content will convert as well.
Your posts are traffic drivers out there on the LinkedIn platform.
Pulling people in.
People see your posts and then they check your profile.
When they self-qualify, they will reach out to you.
Here's the structure I use.
You can literally implement it today.
I recommend that you turn your LinkedIn profile into a landing page.
You have a ton of skills and knowledge just sitting in your head waiting.
...OR you may already HAVE a company.
With a clear offering.
But you lack distribution, demand and conversion to sales.

Build distribution.
Monetize your skills, knowledge and product and build multiple income streams.
This is independence and opportunity AT SCALE and it feels GREAT.
To summarize
Decide what services/products you want to offer
Put yourself out there: Create loads of content and / or reach out to people you want to work with
Conversion: Create a simple website and turn your LinkedIn profile into a landing page
