The best way to grow your email list is by asking your followers to subscribe → over and over again you should promote your newsletter.

Put the link in your:

- LinkedIn profile
- email signature

- guides
- products
- courses
- LinkedIn posts
- instagram bio + posts
- newsletter on LinkedIn etc.

Ask your subscribers to tell their friends and family about it. Create a custom referral program and ask your first subscribers to help you grow the newsletter.

Sponsor someone who has a much bigger email list and audience than you and find the right subscribers this way.

Co-create and collaborate with people.

Create a free newsletter course. People give their email address to you in exchange for a free 4-day course.

If you’re intentional about it, you will grow your email list.

2 - How to get started

When I started my first newsletter “The Future of Work” on LinkedIn, I had no idea what I was doing or what to write about. 

But I knew I wanted to start a newsletter.

So I did.

And I started by interviewing cool people.

That process helped me to find my own voice.

This is a great way to:

• grow your newsletter

• learn loads

• build a massive network

• push you outside of your comfort zone

• expose yourself to more opportunities

Most people will say yes to being interviewed.

If you post content on social media, use the best performing posts and add more meat to it.

There are millions of topics to write about:

You will be surprised how much people appreciate this.

People love how-to’s.
People love step-by-step guides.

"But I'm not where I want to be"

“I have nothing of interest to share”

Everyone in this world has a voice.
Everyone has something of interest to share.

You are interesting.
You have a ton of experience.
You have dreams.
You can help others on their way.
You have lots of things to share.

→ You just need to learn how.

People want to follow REAL people.

If it feels too hard in the beginning or if you lack the time → hire a ghostwriter in the beginning.

And gradually take over the process, bit by bit.

I have been writing online for 3 years now.

I bring my work with me everywhere I go.

I work from anywhere.
I work with who I want.
I work whenever I want.

This, for some reason, pisses some people off.

I guess it reminds them they could as well, but haven’t prioritised it.

…anyway, a newsletter is a game-changer for your online business.

It's the only way to fully own your audience and direction.

Because an audience on social media is a rented audience.

The algorithm is the boss.
