This June marks 4 years since I walked away from a well paid Sales Director role into complete uncertainty.

Everyone thought I had gone crazy.

I went from enjoying what I did to sitting in back to back calls all day.

More and more mornings I woke up thinking:

• Is this really it?

• Is this what I worked so hard for?

• Was the $600,000 salary the goal?

I didn’t feel brave. I felt done.

I knew I had to make a change.

Looking back, these decisions changed my life:

1. I chose freedom over stability.

2. I decided to bet on myself instead of waiting for certainty.

3. I chose to be my own boss.

4. I built a business that lets me work from anywhere and spend more time with my kids.

5. I bootstrapped instead of raising money.

6. I went all in on ownership.

7. I committed to consistency over intensity.

8. I started building my own dream, not someone else’s.

9. I showed up relentlessly on LinkedIn and got comfortable with some people not agreeing with me, and many times being disliked.

10. I focused on building a life I don’t need a vacation from.

11. I surrounded myself with curious, driven people who take ownership.

12. I invested in my personal brand and created my own opportunities.

13. I learned from people who were a few steps ahead of me.

14. I focused on helping others build real, profitable businesses with focus on sales, go-to-market and personal branding.

15. I designed my own version of work-life integration.

16. I started respecting my time and designing my days to fit my energy and life.

This isn’t about avoiding pressure or being burnt out.

It’s the opposite.

It’s about wanting more out of life than being hijacked by someone else’s agenda.

Building a business is hard. There's no doubt about that.

But it’s my hard.

And my rules.

So many times in the beginning I remember thinking: “what the f*ck have I done?”

It felt really uncertain and scary to leave what I had built up.

I had a lot of doubts.

But I also knew I was done asking for permission and done playing by someone else’s rules.

So I kept going. I made micro improvements every day:

- Posting on LinkedIn
- Showing up every day
- Building something that felt like mine.

The first $10k was the hardest.

And I didn’t really have a plan. The plan was built along the way.

I let demand lead me forward.

Today, all of those decisions led me to:

→ A profitable, inbound-driven business
→ Clients all over the world

And the biggest shift?

I own my life.

Where I work.
When I work.
Who I work with.
How much I earn.

Most people never ask themselves:

What do I actually want my life to look like?

Not what sounds good or looks impressive.

The life YOU want.

They stay busy.
They follow the default path.
They wait.

Nobody is coming to build your life for you.

Comfort will keep you stuck.

If the door is locked, find a window. If that’s locked, build your own way in.

Everything is figureoutable.

Ask yourself

Are you building the life you actually want?

Or just maintaining one you’ve outgrown?

This path isn’t easy. But neither is staying stuck.

For me, staying employed became harder than leaving.

The moment you back yourself, everything changes.
