đł My daughter asked me a question at dinner.
The simple truth that changed how I work and live.
At dinner one night, my daughter looked up at me and asked:
âWhy do you work so much?â
I froze.
It wasnât about money.
It wasnât about ambition.
She was asking about presence.
That one question hit harder than any feedback Iâd ever received at work.
The truth?
I was there at the table, but not really there.
My mind was still stuck in Slack messages, quotas, numbers and unread emails.
Around the same time my daughter showed me a drawing she had made in preschool.
The picture was our house and and our whole family outside the house.
âLook at my drawing Mum, itâs our house and our familyâ
Everyone was in the picture:
Her dad, her brother and sister, and she were all standing outside the house.
I asked: where am I in the picture?
She pointed to one of the windows where the light was on.
âThatâs you, youâre workingâ
đ€Ż That hit med like a ton of bricks.
After those two events I promised myself Iâd make changes.
And this is the biggest reason why I left my 9 to 5 and started my own business to define my own rules and how I wanted to live my life.
Some of the changes Iâve made since starting my own business:
Mornings became my deep-work zoneâno calls, no meetings, no distractions.
Evenings became untouchable family time.
What surprised me most:
My career didnât suffer.
My business didnât suffer. It grew.
Because sharper focus in fewer hours beats constant distraction in long days.
And at dinner, I could finally answer her question with honesty.
I am present now.
I am so grateful to have built a life where I have designed my own rules for work and life.
Since I left my 9 to 5 I am spending much more time with my family. It wouldnât have been possible if I had stayed employed.

It hasnât been easy to build something completely new from scratch.
But it was necessary.
I will never go back to those years again when I was hi-jacked.
Nothing is more important than the years we have with our kids and our family.

Have you seen this graph?
Sometimes the most important productivity coach isnât a book or a podcast.
Itâs the people sitting across the table from you.
They are the reason for everything.
And thatâs why I am on a mission to help more people break free and build something of their own.
Do you have a moment in your life that redefined how you look at your priorities?
Letâs build a life we donât need a vacation from,
Hanna
