"I'm posting on LinkedIn but no one is buying from me"
Don't sell a Ferrari to someone without a driver's license.
A senior executive reached out to me and said:
"I'm posting on LinkedIn every day, I'm spending loads of time commenting on other people's content and still I'm not getting anyone signing up to my newsletter or buying my services.
What am I doing wrong?"
I took a look at her content and her profile on LinkedIn.
I immediately saw 3 things she needed to address.
But first, today’s sponsor:

1 - Her LinkedIn profile was all over the place.
I told her she had to clean it up.
If someone comes in to her profile, they should instantly know:
who she is
what she does
how she can help
Clarity is a MUST if you want to convert attention from your posts to business.
Eliminate guesswork and remove fluff.
2 - Her posts was all: me, me, me, me, me, me, me.
When creating and posting content on LinkedIn, you should always ask yourself:
“what’s in it for them"?”
Content is all about them, not us.
There's a reason why you should learn how to create visuals that people want to share with their network.
Your visuals/images should be so good that people want to share them with their network.
Posting pictures of yourself now and then is important, but not everyday. You won’t get efficient reach that way.
You need a mix.
3 - I asked her what her low ticket offer is.
She said: “it’s a one hour 1:1 session with me”
Price: 500 EUR.
So, she basically were asking people to take a jump from seeing her social media content to booking a 500 EUR call with her (!)
I’m not saying it can’t be done, it’s just not an efficient approach to getting people into your funnel and to trust you.
(she had no newsletter or lead magnet either to warm people up)
So I told her to create a step between the social media content and her low ticket offer to build further trust.
It can be:
- A free guide
- A paid guide
- A newsletter (long form content where people can get to know her better)
These should help you to show your clients that you are their go-to and can solve their problem.
If your service is about helping people to make a big change in their lives, you should enable them to window shop first before committing.
This is just basic psychology.
Don't sell a Ferrari to someone without a driver's license.
I use this model when coaching my clients and building my clients personal brands:
1. Attention
2. Trust
3. Offer
Most people don’t spend enough time on building trust.
I guarantee you will get sell more if you spend time on building trust.
Hope you found this helpful.
