You have solved REAL problems.
You have helped companies grow.
You have carried projects, teams, launches, clients, deals, revenue, change, and responsibility.
You know things other people would pay to understand.
But when you start thinking about building something of your own, it suddenly feels much harder than it should.
Competence is not the same as a business.
This is the mistake smart people make when they start building:
They think being good at something is enough.
It's not.
Far from it.
Your experience has to be turned into something other people can understand, trust, and buy:
A clear problem
A clear audience
A clear promise
A clear offer
A clear reason to trust you
A clear way to take the next step
That's where many capable people get stuck.
Because building for someone else is different from building your own thing.
Inside a company, a lot of the structure is already there:
The market is chosen
The product exists
The brand has some trust
The meetings are booked
The team is around you
The title gives you authority
The company gives you context
When you build something of your own, that context disappears.
Now you have to explain:
❓ Who you help
❓ What you help them with
❓ Why it matters
❓ Why you
❓ Why now
❓ What they should do next
And that's why your personal brand matters.
Because people need to understand what YOU know before they can trust you.
They need to see your thinking and your perspective - they need to connect you with a problem they care about.
And they need to see it more than once.
This can start very small.
Write one post.
Leave one thoughtful comment.
Share one lesson.
Explain one problem.
Tell one real story.
Name one thing you help with.
Create one simple offer.
Invite one conversation.
You don't need a perfect business plan….you need contact with the MARKET.
And the only way to get that is to start showing your work. Show how you think.
Show your lived experience.
…..and no, you won’t find clarity by thinking yourself into clarity.
Clarity only comes from building and doing the thing.
Post, talk to people, notice what lands, notice what people ask you about, notice what they want help with, adjust - repeat, repeat, repeat.
Your competence is an ASSET.
But it only becomes valuable outside your job when other people can see it, understand it, trust it, and buy it.
From being good at what you do → to becoming known for what you can help others do.
Until next time,
Hanna
