1 - Start Building Your Audience Early

Building an audience is one of the most important things you can do when starting a business.

If you're thinking about starting a business, start building your audience now.

Don’t wait. The opportunity we have on LinkedIn right for for building organic growth won’t be like this in 2 years.

It moves so fast right now.

Don’t wait.

I didn't wait for the perfect moment, and that made all the difference.

Posting daily on LinkedIn since January 2022 has been the main reason for my business growth.

I went from no audience to a successful 6-figure business just from connecting with people online.

Having this newsletter on Beehive also means I'm not fully dependent on social-media platform algorithms—I have the freedom to grow and move quickly when opportunities come.

2 - Done is Better Than Perfect

Time kills business.

Waiting too long can kill a business or a momentum—don’t wait for perfection.

Moving fast was one of my biggest advantages.

It’s better to take action, learn, and improve than to wait for perfection. 

Speed has been my biggest competitive edge, especially when starting out.

Mistakes are okay—they help us learn and grow.

3 - Cash Flow Over Scale in the Beginning

Don’t worry about scaling in the beginning.

Focus on keeping things simple and building a profitable business.

→ Solve your client’s problems.

I started as a one-person business, which kept things lean and profitable.

Working directly with customers one-on-one helped me understand their needs and improve my services.

Once I was fully booked, I added scalable products and services.

Starting small and simple helped me build a strong foundation before growing.

So stay scrappy.

I will always keep the startup mentality.

It keeps us on our toes.

There’s nothing worse than processes that slows us down.

4 - Keep Offerings Simple Initially

In the beginning, I only had two offerings.

Keeping it simple made it easier for me to manage everything effectively.

Complexity can slow you down a lot.

Adding too many offers might seem like a good idea, but it can spread you too thin.

Create a clear plan for your offerings—build a proper funnel for each of them.

Add more as you grow.

Build your ecosystem.

This will help you stay focused and provide high-quality service.

And offer what the client needs.

Not what we think they need.

5 - Document Everything

Documenting everything has been incredibly helpful.

It’s what I did when I built a remote sales team at my former job as well.

We were 90 people located in 22 different countries.

It’s the best way to collect learnings, scale best practices, prepare a business for scaling, have a seamless onboarding and giving people who work for you autonomy.

Documentation is essential for productivity.

Whether it's processes, customer feedback, or what worked and what didn’t, keeping records has helped my business to grow more smoothly.

I use Notion for this.

It also gives me great content to share with my audience.

I often use insights from documentation in my posts and newsletters.

Sharing your journey helps people learn from you and builds trust in your brand.

→ Building in public is very effective.

It’s one of the best ways to GROW a business.

And you will attract the right clients to you.

These lessons are the foundation of my business.

Start small, learn quickly, don’t get stuck in too much analysis (I see this all the time) and don’t be afraid to put yourself out there before you feel completely ready.

The journey is about learning, adapting, and showing up consistently.

Take action, stay focused, and remember that progress always, always beats perfection.
