I meet people ALL the time who tell me:
"One day, I want to start my own business."
One day.
When they have more money, when the kids are older, when work is less busy, when the economy is better, when they have the perfect idea and when they feel ready.
And then 5 years pass...........
The problem for most people is rarely ambition.
It's fear.
Fear of losing the salary, fear of failing, of not finding customers, fear of looking stupid and fear of discovering that the business isn't as good as they thought.

Fear of leaving a career they spent 10 or 20 years building.
All completely reasonable fears.
Your experience, skills and network are a much better starting point than chasing a completely new idea.
You don't have to remove all the risk to start.
Instead, make the first risk SMALL.

Your employees are connecting AI to everything. Now what?
ChatGPT and Claude aren't just answering questions. Employees are connecting them directly to Notion, Linear, Jira, and the rest of your stack — with no security visibility into what data moves or what actions they take.
Harmonic Security gives your team the visibility to control it.
✅ 5 things I would do now before you start your business
1 - Sell before you build
Find out if anyone will pay for what you want to offer.
2 - Get one customer
One paying customer teaches you more than months of planning.
3 - Keep your costs ridiculously low
You don't need an office, a huge website or a fancy brand to prove the idea works.
What you need is to publish content on LinkedIn to test your idea..see the reaction and feedback you get back.
I know, I know..this is not what most people want to hear.
Most people want to build a beautiful website and spend months and months on planning and building an offer they have zero proof will work...
Build some financial runway
Know exactly how much you need to live every month and give yourself room to breathe.
Start with what you already know
Your experience, skills and network are a much better starting point than chasing a completely new idea.
Monetize the knowledge you already have. When you have proven to yourself that you can sell yourself..then you can start thinking about other business ideas.

Too many people believe entrepreneurship starts with some huge leap.
Mine didn't.
Most businesses don't.
They start with one person paying you to solve 1 problem.
Then another.
Then another.
And somewhere along the way you realize:
Sh*t. This might actually work.
You probably won't feel confident when you start. I didn’t.
Confidence will come from evidence when you get:
Your first sale
Your first repeat customer
Your first referral
Your first month where real money comes in
So if you've been saying "one day" for years, stop asking:
"Am I ready to start a business?"
And instead ask yourself:
"What can I sell in the next 30 days?"

Hanna
