🔥 How to write emails people respond to

Go straight to the point because no one cares or have time

Sending cold emails to get more customers to your business is not dead.

The old way (spray and pray) of doing it is dead.

Most people receive and read cold emails every day.

Most of them are shit.

And will never get a response.

Before starting my business, I spent 16 years in in B2B sales.

I’ve sent a loooot of cold emails to generate leads, pipeline and revenue 😅

In this edition I’ll tech you how to write emails people open and respond to.

💸 Two weeks ago I shared advice on how to make money from your newsletter.

☕️ Morning Brew is probably the most successful newsletter example out there.

Alex Lieberman turned a college newsletter into Morning Brew, a media company that sold for $75M when he was just 27.

I strongly advice you to hit subscribe 😄

Your job called—it wants better business news

Welcome to Morning Brew—the world’s most engaging business newsletter. Seriously, we mean it.

Morning Brew’s daily email keeps professionals informed on the business news that matters, but with a twist—think jokes, pop culture, quick writeups, and anything that makes traditionally dull news actually enjoyable.

It’s 100% free—so why not give it a shot? And if you decide you’d rather stick with dry, long-winded business news, you can always unsubscribe.

How to write an outbound email people will respond to 📩

1 - Keep the headline extremely short

No more than 3-5 words.

You get A+ if it also creates curiosity.

2 - Go straight to the point

People have no time for fluff or BS.

Skip the intro who you are. No cares.

Go straight to the point with 1-2 sentences max.

3 - Add some sort of insight or data that shows you understand their pain.

1 sentence.

You can mention their competitor.

Or something concrete from their business that you can improve.

Simple informal english.

Don’t try to look smart.

People don’t care and people don’t have time.

4 - End with one question

BOOM.

Make it easy to reply and say yes.

👉 Example 1

Headline: Your newsletter link?

Noticed you’re building an audience on LinkedIn, and have no email list.

People like >mention names of creators in their size< with the same amount of followers like you have one.

An audience on social media is a rented audience.

Email marketing is up to 40x more effective than social media.

Would it help if I shared info how I have helped other founders set up their newsletter?

Best,
Anne

👉 Example 2

Here’s another great example with the same approach by Mike Gallardo, Sales Manager at Deel.

These are all emails that have a great chance of getting a reply.

👉 In my experience if you make it short, relevant, and to the point you will often get a response.

SHOW that you understand them.
